Forget all those artificial stuff for oral care and try these spicy remedies to oral problems like toothache, bad breath, yellow teeth

We all know spices add a unique flavor and taste to our food. But have you ever thought that these common kitchen ingredients can come to your rescue in dealing with common oral problems! Here’s how:

1. Toothache
Toothache can be caused due to various reasons like cavities, infection or gum disease. Although a visit to dentist is a must, here are some quick natural aids to attain relief.

Cloves (laung): The anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of this spice make it an effective natural remedy to combat tooth pain. Put a whole clove on the affected area and hold it between your teeth for some time. This will cause release of chemicals from clove, thereby alleviating pain.
  • Put a whole clove directly on the paining tooth and hold it in between your upper and lower teeth for few minutes. This causes slow release of chemicals from the clove which helps in soothing the pain and provides you a quick relief.
  • Grind few cloves (around 4 – 5) by adding a few drops of olive oil and make a fine paste. Apply this paste directly on the aching tooth to get quick relief.
  • You can also use clove oil to attain quick relief from tooth pain. Dab a cotton ball in clove oil and place it over the aching tooth. You will experience a feeling of numbness in the gums for few minutes and get relief from tooth pain.
Tip: Clove is a natural remedy that only provides temporary relief.  In case you experience excruciating tooth pain or are suffering from a long time, visit a dentist soon to know the cause and get rid of it quickly.
Nutmeg: Known for its potent anti-inflammatory action, nutmeg is an excellent remedy for relieving toothache. For attaining its pain-relieving benefits, apply nutmeg powder on the tooth in pain and wash your mouth after a while.
Cinnamon (dalchini): This spice is extremely good for gums and teeth because of its effective antibacterial activity. For quick relief from toothache, chew a small piece of cinnamon and slowly swallow its juice.
